Dance For Joy shines at Global Dance Supreme competition

Date: 24 October 2025 By: Karla van Zyl

A local dance group, Dance For Joy, brought pride to Louis Trichardt after taking first place at the Global Dance Supreme competition held in Cape Town on Saturday, 11 October. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that it was the group's first time participating as a crew.

Representing Limpopo Province, the dancers competed in both the Amateur Division Open Legion and the Amateur Division Open Section, standing out among clubs from across the country after securing gold in both disciplines.

Under the dedicated guidance of their coach, Betty Chando, the talented dancers worked tirelessly to perfect their routines. As the only team from Limpopo, they showcased that with determination, teamwork and passion, success knows no boundaries. Their outstanding performance not only earned them top honours but also put Louis Trichardt on the national map, highlighting the depth of talent within the local community.

With their sights now set on an even bigger stage, the team is waiting to hear if they qualify to represent South Africa and their dance studio internationally in Dubai — a testament to their hard work and growing success.
