The 21st edition of the Two Countries Marathon between South Africa and Zimbabwe took place on Saturday, 20 September. Our photographer joined the runners in the half marathon on a tandem, capturing not only the 21km event, but also runners in the 10km and 5km fun runs..

The inaugural AFB Makhado Marathon, held on Saturday 3 February, surpassed all expectations as a qualifying event for the Comrades Marathon. Organised by the Soutpansberg Athletics Club, the race attracted more than 350 entries.
There was much fun and excitement during the Glow Night Mile evening run/walk in Louis Trichardt on Thursday, 9 November. The route took athletes and walkers from Mount Fuji to Songozwi Street and back again down Krogh Street. The main sponsor of the event was Loerie Spar, and it was organised by the Soutpansberg Athletics Club along with Parkrun volunteers. The entry fee was R20 for individuals or R100 for teams of four. All proceeds will go towards child cancer via the Makhado Care Group. Here are some photographs of the evening, taken by Karla van Zyl and Jaco van Zyl.
One of the highlights of the 30th annual Kremetart Cycle Race on 11 June was again the Kiddies Race. A lot of fun was had by both the young riders and their parents.
